Da End of Da Trilogy! DHCT welcomes the Hartland Players as they perform 2 nights of Jeff Daniel's Escanaba!
Hallo. Welcome to da friendliest deer camp in da whole U.P.”
Dearborn Heights Civic Theater and the Hartland Players’ Main Stage Players invite you to see an encore performance of Jeff Daniel’s “Escanaba” for one weekend only. This is a special fund raising event to help keep your favorite shows and performances coming at DHCT.
“Escanaba” takes you back in time to when Alphonse Soady (Tim Arrick) first builds the “world famous Soady deer camp”. Alphonse is as green to the deer camp as the wood he used to build it, but when a black bear chases James Nagamanee from Menominee (Bill Brezina) into the camp, Alphonse’s “man o’ da woods” education really begins. Both of them get a little unexpected help from the spirit of a civil war runaway slave named Black Jack (Deacon Acrie) and the Great Soady Ridge Buck.
The show is funny, poignant and insightful as each person reveals their deeper character while discovering the true purpose of the Soady deer camp. All this is wrapped in the mystique, legend and woodsman spirit associated with Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
